Sabiha Çimen is a self-taught photographer with an emphasis on women, Islamic culture, portraiture, and still life from Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University with an undergraduate degree in International Trade and Finance and a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies. With her project titled “Hafız” she got several prestigious awards. W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund recipient, 2020. 2nd prize winner in the World Press Photo Long Term Projects, 2020. LightWork artist residency, 2020 Canon Female Photojournalist grant, 2020. 3rd prize in the PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant, 2018. Recently she joined Magnum Agency as a nominee, in 2020. She is based between Istanbul and New York.
