Ludwigshafen/Rhein, Germany, 1993. Due to his family’s migration history, Kalaschnikow’s work mainly deals with diaspora, belonging, and identity. For each project, he develops suitable visual approaches and appropriate, respectful forms of representation. Kalaschnikow’s works have been shown in various museums and galleries, including The Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2020, Kunsthaus Dresden in 2022, and Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin in 2019. He studied Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography at HS Hannover and Photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), Ghent. Kalaschnikow currently works as an Art Buyer in a globally operating content marketing agency. There, as an interface between photographers, illustrators, and clients, he oversees numerous national and international projects, both print and digital. Beyond that Kalaschnikow devotes himself to artistic-documentary photo series, which are created over periods of several years.
